XTERRA FS1.5 Elliptical review

The XTERRA FS1.5 elliptical trainer offers users two flywheel solutions. A 17.6 pound option and a 22 pound option. They would both be suitable for home gym use, without needing to pay through the roof to get your hands on one.

The design itself has plenty going for it, providing users with a platform to get a full body cardio exercise workout that will help burn fat and tone up your leg, arm and core muscle groups.

Features

The Xterra free style 1.5 is a good option for home gym use due to it being affordable and packed with features that individuals can work and achieve results with. I don’t think I need to go into too much detail on why buying elliptical for home use is better than commercial. But the stand out reasons would be to allow you to have more time to do other tasks due to cutting out the travelling time to and from the gym, and of course the savings that can be made over a period of time. This depends on how much you use the trainer, but over time you will save so much more cash paying once upfront for a elliptical than constantly paying monthly membership payments to your local gym, and of course at home you are not limited to opening/closing times.

This particular elliptical machine offers some high quality features, despite being described as a lower budget machine. Find out more about the spec list below.

  • Comes with a fourteen inch stride length that is designed to move forward and backwards in a smooth and stable motion, reducing impact on knees, ankles and hip joints.
  • It comes equipped with thirteen different workout programs or apps. Each one helps users reach new targets. Two of these are pulse based, 1 is custom for the users needs and there are plenty more that provide a great deal of variety in how you go about working out.
  • It comes with sixteen levels of difficulty/resistance. From veterans to complete beginners, everyone from all health levels will get something from this machine in terms of how hard it works them, and how intensive their workout are.
  • Sturdy and stable design built for a longer product life. No one wants to purchase an elliptical that falls apart a few months after they buy it, so keeping an eye on the build, frame and accessories is a must. This particular model ticks all the boxes in this department which is surprising given the price tag.
  • Users can easily keep track of their heart rate with sensors that are strategically placed on the handlebars for convenience.
  • Offers a user weight capacity of up to 250 pounds.
  • Elliptical dimensions when fully assembled and installed are: 63.8 inches by 25 inches by 50.8 inches.

Summary

Not all machines in the lower budget tier offer the same amount of features that the XTERRA FS1.5 offers users. I believe there is plenty of bang for your buck in this trainer with tons of functionality, with a strong and stable frame. For home gym users, not looking to spend too much on a new cardio machine, this could be a ideal solution.
